McLaren 570S GT4
Blackdog Speed Shop Racing was founded in 2002 where we began road racing Corvettes simultaneously in SCCA T1 and World Challenge. In 2013, we initiated a six-year run campaigning a series of fifth generation Chevrolet Camaros in partnership with General Motors. In 2019, Blackdog transitioned into two McLaren 570S GT4’s.
Blackdog Speed Shop Racing currently competes in the Pirelli GT4 America Sprint series where we have
earned four Driver’s Championships, two Team Championships, and three Manufacturer
Championships, and have earned a series record of 30 wins in the GT4/GTS competition dating back to
2013. Blackdog Speed Shop Racing currently campaigns two McLaren 570S GT4’s and led the team to its first GT4 Sprint Manufacturer Championship in 2019.
Team owner and driver, Tony Gaples, leads the series in active starts with more than 220. Tony’s
teammate is three-time World Challenge Champion and current McLaren factory driver, Michael

partnership with General Motors. 2019 brought about a transition to McLarens in the Pirelli GT4
America Sprint series.
Blackdog Speed Shop Racing has won five Driver’s Championships, four Team Championships and four
Manufacturer Championships. Blackdog Speed Shop Racing has earned a series record 41 wins in the
GT4/GTS competition dating back to 2013. The team currently campaigns two McLaren 570 GT4’s and
led the constructor to its first GT4 Sprint Manufacturer Championship in 2019, followed by another in
2020, along with the 2020 Team and Driver’s Championships.
Team owner/driver Tony Gaples leads the series in active starts with more than 220. Tony’s teammates
over the past eight years have included four-time World Challenge Champion, Michael Cooper, four-
time champion Lawson Aschenbach and five-time championship winning driver Andy Pilgrim.
