Our precision cast, custom aluminum block is based on the LS2, so all LS2 up accessories, sensors, and mounts can be used.  But that’s where the similarity ends. This motor is a complete engineered package, designed to get maximum displacement and maximum power, without sacrificing durability or driveability

With the blackdog 510, you get the high rpm power of a blown small block along with the broad, flat, powerful torque curve of a big block.  And despite all the technology on the inside, this motor installs as easily as a factory LS motor, with no exotic wiring, plumbing, exhaust, or drive belt issues to deal with.

But don’t underestimate the engineering behind this motor.  Our race engine builders, Goodwin Competition Race Engines,  have thousands of hours of R&D invested. Several hundred of which went into the valve train alone. That’s in addition to the custom block, crank, and pistons.

Equally important is the fact that these power levels were attained with a fairly mild cam and 93 octane pump gas.  With a bigger cam or race fuel, even more power is possible.

All Blackdog Motors are custom built, taking into consideration customer specifications and desired end use. This makes the Blackdog 510 equally at home in hot rods, street rods, race cars, trucks or even boats.
