Moment of Inertia is basically the ability of a mass to resist rotating. A lower moment of inertia means that it is easier to get that object to rotate. Apply this to your flywheel / clutch assembly, and lower MOI means faster acceleration. |

 For the ultimate in manual transmissions, Blackdog offers the Holinger sequential six speed. For those not familiar with sequential transmissions, these do not use the typical ‘H’ pattern. The shifter only moves forward and backward. Forward is downshift, backward is upshift. There is also no skipping gears, so it is nearly impossible to over rev from a missed shift. Its also clutchless…once the car is moving, shifts can be made at full throttle, without disengaging the clutch. This is a high performance transmission, intended for track use only. |
